Why is my Land Rover airbag light on?

Your airbag light may have come on for
various reasons. Most of the time it is due to an airbag fault, but it
could be related to the airbag module itself. Crash Data will reset your
airbag module back to its original manufacturer state: clear of all
codes, both soft and hard codes. Typically, these codes will indicate
that there is crash data stored, communication failure, or some of the
following issues:

  • Crash sensors fault
  • Crash data stored
  • Airbags deployed
  • Wiring harness problem
  • Miscommunication or no communication
  • Faulty airbag clockspring
  • Faulty seat belt pretensioners
  • Had a bump
  • Flat car battery
  • Damaged circuit board

While these are the most common faults, your airbag light may be on for other reasons.
Despite the reasons for you airbag light being on, you should always
scan your system using an OBD airbag scanner to read and obtain the
codes. If you do not own an OBD airbag scanner, you can get this
diagnosed at any local garage. If you work with cars often, we recommend
investing in an OBD airbag scan tool to scan the system and retrieve
codes whenever your airbag light is on.
Regardless
of the possible issues these codes are indicating, they require your Land Rover airbag module to be sent to Crash Data for reset due to the
codes that are stored in the airbag control module.

What do you need to do?

    1. Locate and remove your airbag module
    2. Search for your part number using the search bar in the top corner.
    3. Once located part number, click “click to repair” button.
    4. View cart, checkout, and follow the checkout process.
    5. Place the airbag module into a padded envelope, enclose “booking reference number” and post to us.
    6. We receive your airbag module, repair it the same day and post back out to you
    7. Receive your repaired airbag module back, ready to be re-fitted.
