Great business model with a quick turn around
Service response received from CrashData was excellent. I sent off the AMU from my son’s car as instructed – which was bringing on both airbag lights, disabling the airbag function – and received the unit back within 3 days. Fitted unit, and lights stayed off! Success! MoT passed.
Unfortunately, about 45 days later, the fault returns. It could be either a known wiring problem with the Punto, or a similarly intermittent fault with the AMU. This is why I rated CrashData 4star: I would appreciate more feedback/information with the repaired unit stating what error code was found (if any) and if a firmware reload performed, was it same or later firmware and what version? And I’d like CrashData’s opinion as to integrity of the AMU model concerned based upon their own experience, where they consider they have seen enough units to form a reasonable opinion.
I will have to resend this unit in or get one from the scrapper and see if the car or the AMU is at fault.
